Religion will determine how society and its people will conduct themselves. To achieve that, focus on developing the economy first through urban planning, creating sources of income, and establishing trade and commerce. You’ll lay the groundwork for multiple grand developments, one of which will be The Great Pyramid of Giza as you know it today. The game takes place in the Nile Valley and spans the start of the Old Kingdom ‘till the rule of Cleopatra VII. It is no wonder then that these structures are often the point of focus in various historical video games, and Builders of Egypt is one of the more recently made ones. They are essentially one of the greatest symbols of Egyptian civilization and provide a glimpse into its spiritual beliefs and practices. When it comes to ancient Egyptian times, no conversation will be complete without mentioning the Great Pyramids. Next update might be another company reorganisation. Sounds to me PlayWay was not too impressed with it either. But end of Jan seems still to have been another internal deadline because on the last Friday of Jan (could well be the "beginning of Q1" as promised) they finally coughed up the demo and said "next update today or tomorrow" but nothing came and now it's nearly end of Feb and the demo is still bugged and not playable. Then in October they probably agreed that it would be a pity to abandon a half-ready promising project with lots of people who have wishlisted the game so they announced "beginning of Q1 for lauch", that became "Q1/Q2", that became "coming soon" again, a bit like Groundhog Day. Sounds to me like PlayWay told them their opinion about the progress and pulled the plug. That company restructure to me sounded like an excuse because a) how long does it take to reorganise 3 people ? b) In most companies a company restructure means "business as usual during the restructure", not "heads and pens down until you hear from management". After tons of delays and missed deadlines the Prologue II was kinda promised for Q1 2022, it did not come and they announced a "company restructure" right at the beginning of Q2 2022 with months of silence. It's risky to speculate if you don't know what's going on but the timing is always remarkable. I guess PlayWay is running out of patience. Once they have the rights to the title they have a say and can demand deadlines that does not work for all independent developers to have someone else decide on their game and dictate the pace. That is where PlayWay comes in they can look after promotion and sponsoring before a release but it comes at a price. Let's keep in mind it's a dry time for those who have no game released yet because they have their expenses but no sales yet. I agree that it's a pity that a lot of indie games or small studios don't seem to make it. This one looks much better, graphics and engine might be dated as well because it's 5 or 6 years old already but still it is superior to Pharaoh New Era.Ĭompetition for this game are "Dynasty of the Sands" or "Akhenaten: Rule as Pharaoh", neither of them has released yet.Īnd in the end it's not a real competition anyway because if two games are good then a lot of players would buy both. Pharaoh New Era is a remake of an old game and even if redone it's still the graphics and gaming mechanism are 90s style. I don't think Pharaoh New Era and this game are in competition.
